About
When Catherine Carlyle’s controlling husband David disappears in Bangkok, she rushes after him. Not because she wants him back, but because she wants him dead. Instead, he’s only vanished.
After the tragic death of her younger brother, Catherine hit bottom. That’s where she met David — a true bottom feeder. Five years into their marriage, she is desperate to get out. On David’s disappearance, she learns from police that her husband is suspected of embezzling millions of dollars from some very dangerous people. This she already knew — she set him up. But the police pursue a line of questioning she hadn’t seen coming: what does David know of Bangkok’s sex clubs? She knows her primary concern really ought to be where David is right now, but she can’t let it go.
What Catherine discovers in a chaotic search of Bangkok’s darker side and of David’s past convinces her she’s getting out just in time. She knew her husband was a letch, she didn’t know he might be a killer.
Catherine flees Bangkok and their home in Singapore to return to the US, certain David’s victims will finish him off. But Catherine’s new beginning is upended when the man pursuing her husband decides the best way to find him is through her. When the two of them discover there is more uniting them than a desire to see David dead, Catherine finds herself betting everything on an uneasy alliance with an assassin. It’s like playing Russian roulette with a hand grenade; this could easily blow up in her face. She knows what’s in store for David, but where does that leave her?
And where is David . . . and how much does he know?
